Let's go with the mahogany, she says. It matches the aesthetic of the bedroom. He considers the wardrobe, sturdy, yet made of impossibly light wood. It's better than the one we're getting rid of.

It better be, she retorts. Those doors sound like a family of rats every time we try to open them. He laughs. She’s always cracked him up. A family of rats, he thinks, smiling to himself.

What, she asks.

Nothing, he replies, imagining a family of rats trying to open the doors of their guest room wardrobe. Rats, huh, he says, hugging her. Get off me, she says playfully. Get off me and tell me what you think.

I think I love you, he says.

Focus, man, she jokes.

I like it.

She turns to look for an attendant. When she catches the attention of a uniform-clad woman, she waves at her. The attendant beams, walks up to them, and nods once, patiently, yes ma'am.

We'll take this.

Message from Gianni, the home system says, interrupting the game. Read it, Diru. 

Anand, I need to see some progress today. Any progress at all.

Anand sighs. Ok, he says. Ok Diru, let’s shut off this game.

Should I reply to Gianni?

No Diru. Not yet.
